My experience on my ride was very different this time. Riding the updated Hero Pleasure in Goa taught me that sometimes, it is better to do things the conventional way if you want accurate observations/reactions. Hero’s most underrated product is the Pleasure. This scooter is not well-received, despite Hero MotoCorp having a strong base.

Hero MotoCorp claims that the facelifted Pleasure goes beyond a simple facelift. We took the new scooter on a short, conventional ride to Dona Paula (which is well-known for its excellent roads and unique Portuguese architecture) to see if it was what it claimed to be.

The new Pleasure is compact and easy to see after a quick look. The scooter’s overall proportions were designed to look great on a girl. They are not too large, but they are very fashionable. The Pleasure looks best from the front because it highlights its angular nose.

Although the Maestro has been influenced by few design elements, Hero MotoCorp tried to give the Pleasure a sharper look. The cowl that covers the headlight has a modern design. It is one of the most attractive scooters in its segment, with its front apron. The scooter looks a little aggressive because of the horizontal curving line at the front.

The new, more prominent turn indicators are positioned very close to the front apron. Hero also added a nice touch by placing the “Pleasure” decal at the top left side of the front cover.

You will see that nothing has changed on the side. While the Pleasure’s design remains the same, the new Pleasure has redesigned the body panels to feature sharp creases. The rear Pleasure receives a new triangular-shaped tail lamp that looks good from afar but feels odd when you get closer.

The new grab rail is more user-friendly and looks better than the round one. Overall, I like the Pleasure design. It’s not only well-thought, but also an attempt to make the segment more appealing.

Here is where the new Pleasure score the highest. Hero MotoCorp finally understands the concept of adding value to their products using various features. Hero MotoCorp now offers a 12V charging socket in the storage compartment. This is a first in India for Hero scooters, but it is becoming more common on scooters here.

Another exciting feature is the inclusion of an LED lamp underneath the seat. Riders can reach small items like a pen drive, or check vehicle papers in darkness easily. Every time we lift the seat, the small LED lamp lights up.

Although the under-seat storage can hold a helmet up to half-face, it is quite small. A hook is placed under the seat for daily shoppers or office commuters. This allows you to store your bag, groceries, and other items.

Hero MotoCorp hasn’t made major improvements to the cluster of instruments. The layout of the previous model is still the same across the cluster. The only difference is the background design. A side-stand indicator has been added, which remains on when the side stand is engaged.

Hero cleverly played around with the background colors by adding a blue stripe to the cluster. My target audience is primarily young girls who love bright colors and the Pleasure will definitely catch their attention. The old model also features the turn indicators, odometers and other features.

The hexagonal silver plastic bordering the instrument cluster is what I love. The center console looks a little more expensive because of it. It is extremely easy to use and of excellent quality. The Pleasure’s long, wide seat is very comfortable.

This compact scooter’s engine is powered by a single-cylinder air-cooled 102cc engine of 102cc. It produces 6.74 bhp at 7,500 rpm and 7.85 Nm at 5,500 rpm. The same engine powered the original model. It’s interesting that I have experienced the old Pleasure and found the new model to be more refined.

Because Hero MotoCorp has not worked as hard on the engine, I used the term “interestingly”. However, there is a significant difference in refinement. The gearbox is very slow, just like the old model.

Although the scooter’s acceleration isn’t great, the Pleasure is enough for daily rides from home to college or work. The low-end torque was not impressive to me because I am tall and hefty, so this shouldn’t be a problem for the target audience.

The Hero Pleasure’s braking system is flawless. The 130mm drum brake at front and 130mm rear of the Pleasure, combined with an integrated braking device (IBS), provide excellent braking.
